Read any good books lately?

This schoolyear, San Ildefonso Day School wants students to discover/rediscover the joy of reading. Stories and books are like tickets to far away lands, galaxies, or times. Fortunately for you, there is always another “ticket” waiting for you at your school or community library. To celebrate your newfound joy of reading, we encourage all students to prepare for National Library Week 2023, themed “There’s More to the Story.”

To prepare for this week-long celebration of the wonderful libraries that keep our books safe, our young Warriors should familiarize themselves with the library.  April 23 – 29, 2023 is when we recognize the vital role reading and libraries play in a student’s educational journey. Book fairs, writing workshops, author visits, and a variety of activities and presentations are some of the events that libraries across the country will be scheduling.

San Ildefonso Day School Warriors and their parents/guardians can prepare for National Library Week by setting aside time to read together. Use these special times to develop the habits that benefit all lifelong learners. Books unlock the imagination and open a new world of possibilities. With every book that your child checks out from the library, they will discover that there truly is “more to the story.”
