    In our global society, it is important to understand the diverse array of cultures that make up the world. The Bureau of Indian Education is diverse, with schools serving 40,000 students across 23 states and 64 reservations.

    On this Digital Learning Day, we’re providing an update on the impact of the technology upgrades and increased virtual capabilities provided by the Bureau of Indian Education for students and staff. The BIE’s efforts across the country have reduced the opportunity gap, increased student self-advocacy and empowered Tribal leaders for future generations.

    Most of us have been the “new student,” at one time or another. Being in a new and unfamiliar place like this can be very stressful. But sometimes all it takes is a kind word and a smile to turn a new student’s day from scary and lonely to exciting and fun.

    Read any good books lately? This schoolyear, San Ildefonso Day School wants students to discover/rediscover the joy of reading. Stories and books are like tickets to far away lands, galaxies, or times. Fortunately for you, there is always another “ticket” waiting for you at your school or community library. To celebrate your newfound joy of reading, we encourage all students to prepare for National Library Week 2023, themed “There’s More to the Story.”
